Find your Inspiration!

One of the nicest things about my so called retirement these days is finding the time to travel more ,find the inspiration and to create another painting....

And one of the greatest pleasures for me are the people I meet along the way.

My love of art developed in high school and I produced my first oil painting ,with an international theme (of an old English village) when I was 16.

I was encouraged to develop my interest in painting and enrolled in a correspondence course started by Norman Rockwell and two others...

My first trip abroad, (in 1961), was with my Grandfather to his home country of England. Introduced to delights of “The Old World” ,The magnificent cathedrals ,the castles,  Paris, the Folies Bergere and the ART...there was no turning back,

I was inspired!

Back in Farmington , I lived with my Grandfather for a time at HIll-Stead

At that time, I was able to be on my own with the likes of Cassatt,Degas, Monet and Whistler, to name but a few.

How could I not be inspired?!

I applied for and received a scholarship to study at

The Heatherley School of Fine Art in London

and in1963 set out on the high seas aboard the “Queen Elizabeth”.

I now have an international following and am inclined to be quite traditional in my approach to art. I am especially fond of the Northern

Renaissance painters, such as Rembrandt and Vermeer.

To create a sense of history and even mystery in my work is a challenge I am always eager to accept.

When it comes to my depiction and interpretations of the sea, I feel the

movement and flow develop as I work , a factor that contributes to

my love of marine painting.
